Twelve Hearts of a Faithful Man
A clean heart vs. a wicked heart
- Purpose: Salvation – John 13:10
- God’s work – Psalm 51:10
- Daily cleansing by God’s Word – John 15:3
- Husbands: cleanse wives by Word – Ephesians 5:26
A pure heart vs. a double-minded heart
- Purpose: to be in God’s holy presence – Psalm 24:3-4
- Purify your hearts – James 4:8
- They speak vanity with a double heart – Psalm 12:1-2
- Love one another with a pure heart – I Peter 1:22
- The pure in heart shall see God – Matthew 5:8
A wise heart vs. a foolish heart
- Purpose: for skilled leadership – Exodus 36:2
- Requested by Solomon – I Kings 3:12
- A wise heart receives commandments – Proverbs 10:8
- A wise heart teaches mouth to answer – Proverbs 16:23
- Heart of wise in house of mourning – Ecclesiastes 7:4
- The wise in heart are called prudent – Proverbs 16:21
- The wise in heart bring joy to parents – Proverbs 27:11
A broken and contrite heart vs. a hardened heart
- Purpose: to draw us closer to God – Isaiah 57:15
- God does not despise a broken heart – Psalm 51:17
- God is near those of a broken heart – Psalm 34:18

- God revives those of a broken heart – Isaiah 57:15
A tender (forgiving) heart vs. a bitter heart
- Purpose: to be heard by the Lord – II Chronicles 34:27

- We must forgive to be forgiven – Mark 11:25
A meek and lowly heart vs. a proud heart
- Purpose: to be conformed to Christ – Matthew 11:29
- The meek will find rest – Matthew 11:29
- Meekness: the inner beauty of women – I Peter 3:4
- The meek will know God’s will and way – Psalm 25:9
- Christ preached salvation to the meek – Isaiah 61:1
- The meek increase their joy in the Lord – Isaiah 29:19
A circumcised heart vs. a deceitful heart
- Purpose: to remove secret impurities – Deuteronomy 10:16
- We must expose secrets to God – Jeremiah 4:4
- God will circumcise our hearts – Deuteronomy 30:6
- Required to seek God with whole heart – Deuteronomy 30:6
An enlarged heart vs. a selfish heart
- Purpose: to give the world God’s love – John 3:16
- God gave Solomon largeness of heart – I Kings 4:29
- Allows running in God’s commands – Psalm 119:32
A faithful heart vs. a fearful heart
- Purpose: to claim great exploits – Nehemiah 9:8
- Required to please and serve God – Hebrews 11:6
- Faith is enlarged by adding to it – II Peter 1:1-10
- Faith is based on God’s rhemas – Romans 10:17
A perfect heart vs. a lukewarm heart ( A perfect heart is one from which all idols have been removed.)
- Purpose: to show God’s power – II Chronicles 16:9

- Purpose: to be right in doctrine and unashamed of the Gospel

A merry heart vs. a discouraged heart
- Purpose: to be joyful to God and others
- A merry heart doeth good like a medicine – Proverbs 17:22
- A merry heart hath a continual feast – Proverbs 15:15
